Recipe development for Australian food brands
Recipes that sell your product, not just show it.
We create original, kitchen-tested recipes built around your product, then style, shoot and film them in-house. One brief, one studio, and every asset you need for pack, web, retail and social.

What recipe development with FDS looks like
A great recipe does a job. It gives shoppers a reason to pick up your product, a reason to buy it again, and a reason to save, share and cook. That's what we design for.
Every recipe starts with your product and your audience. We develop the idea, write it, test it in our kitchen until it works every time, then style and photograph it so it looks as good as it tastes. Need video too? We film recipe reels and creator-style content in the same session, so your recipes, stills and video all feel like one campaign.
We create cravings. You get recipes your customers actually make.
What you get
- Original recipes developed around your product, brief and audience
- Kitchen testing, so every method and quantity works in a real home kitchen
- Recipe writing in your brand's voice, with ingredient lists, methods, serves and timings
- Food styling and photography, from hero shots to step-by-steps, cropped for pack, web and social
- Recipe videos and reels, filmed alongside the stills if you need them
- Dietary options such as vegan, gluten-free, high-protein or kid-friendly versions on request
- Clear usage rights, agreed upfront, so you know exactly where your content can run
Who it's for
- FMCG and grocery brands launching a product or refreshing their recipe library
- Industry bodies and growers promoting a fresh ingredient, like our recipe work for Hort Innovation's Australian Pears, Avocados and Apples
- Meat and protein producers who want recipes that show off cuts and quality, or provide assets to their retail arm of butchers
- Agencies who need a reliable recipe and content partner for their food clients
Recipes we create appear on packaging, brand websites, retailer pages, social media, in-store magazines and campaigns across Australia and New Zealand.

How it works
- Brief. Tell us about your product, audience, channels and timing. We'll ask the right questions if you're not sure yet.
- Recipe concepts. We pitch recipe ideas for you to choose from before anything is cooked.
- Develop and test. We write and test each recipe in our kitchen until it's reliable and craveworthy.
- Style, shoot and film. Your recipes are styled and captured in our Queensland studio, or on location.
- Deliver. You receive final recipes, edited images and video, ready to publish.
We work with brands all over Australia. Most clients simply ship their product to the studio, and we handle the rest.
Frequently asked questions
Do you work with brands outside Queensland?
Yes. Most of our clients are in Sydney, Melbourne, Western Australia and Tasmania. You send product to our studio, we keep you updated throughout, and you approve concepts and images online.
How many recipes do I need?
It depends on where they'll be used. A product launch might need three to six hero recipes, while a website recipe library or monthly retainer is usually larger. We'll recommend a number in your proposal.
Can you photograph and film the recipes too?
Yes, and it's where most brands get the best value. Because we develop, style, shoot and film in-house, everything is planned together in one brief.
Who owns the recipes and images?
Usage rights are agreed upfront and set out in your proposal, covering where the assets can run and for how long.
How much does recipe development cost?
Pricing depends on the number of recipes, whether you need photography and video, and how the content will be used. Our 2027 Services Guide walks through our best selling packages and rates.
