Cook Time: 30–40 minutes
Serves: 4–6 people

Filling:
1 kg red apples, peeled, cored and roughly chopped
150 g frozen mixed berries
2 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp mixed spice
75 g white sugar or raw sugar

Crumble Topping:
125 g gluten free flour
¾ cup Old Time Bakery Gluten Free Bread Crumbs
100 g unsalted butter, cut into cubes and brought to room temperature
50 g white sugar
1 tsp mixed spice

Method:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (bake).
Combine all the filling ingredients in a large mixing bowl and stir well to coat.
Transfer the mixture to a medium-sized ovenproof dish and bake for 20 minutes.
In a separate bowl, combine all the crumble topping ingredients.
Sprinkle the crumble mixture generously over the partially baked fruit filling.
Return the dish to the oven and bake for another 10–20 minutes, or until the topping is golden and crisp.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and enjoy.

Notes & Variations:

  • Swap mixed berries for raspberries or blueberries for a different flavour profile.

  • Add a handful of chopped walnuts or pecans to the crumble (if not nut free) for extra crunch.

  • Serve with custard or whipped cream instead of ice cream for a cosy twist.
