halloween carob bark.
Dietary: Gluten free & vegetarian
Total Time: 2 hours 15 minutes
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Serves: Makes 1 tray of bark
Bark:
3 blocks The Carob Kitchen Milk Bars of your choice (we used Almond and Milk for a nutty texture)
Toppings of your choice (e.g. lollies, dried fruit, seeds or festive decorations)
Method:
Melt the carob gently using a double boiler over a low simmer until smooth and runny. Do not overheat.
Once melted, remove from the heat immediately.
Pour the melted carob into the centre of a large baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Use a spatula to spread it evenly across the tray.
Top with your favourite toppings or decorations.
Place the tray in the fridge for at least 2 hours to set.
Once firm, remove from the fridge and carefully break into shards.
Store the bark in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to serve. Note: it will begin to soften after about 10 minutes at room temperature.
Notes & Variations:
Add chopped nuts, dried fruit or crushed biscuits for extra texture.
Create themed bark by using seasonal toppings — spooky treats for Halloween or red and green lollies for Christmas.
For a flavour twist, stir a pinch of sea salt or cinnamon into the melted carob before pouring.
